Membership Process

The Welsh Paediatric Society has invested in a new and improved membership system.

The new system will ensure that membership administration costs do not rise as our membership numbers increase.

The new membership system will benefit existing members and new members in the future and will work in the following manner:

New WPS Applications

  • New applications will be accepted throughout the calendar year
  • Applications submitted will be approved at the next available business meeting; held prior to the clinical meetings (May and November)
  • All applications are submitted online via the "apply now" section of the membership page
  • A non-refundable membership fee will be taken once the membership application process has been completed
  • A recurring annual payment will be set up, to begin on the anniversary of your application approval.

Existing WPS Members

  • Existing members are required to re-register
  • The process will ensure that all members details are accurate and up to date and will allow members to select the membership rate applicable to them
  • The WPS will aim to activate / approve all  re-applications for all existing members within a week of submission (once approved members will have full access to the new website)
  • When approved you will be sent a notification email with instructions to enter your payment details, which will be automatically to our new bank account (Barclays) and set up for you.
  • Payment for the calendar year will be taken when you re-register on the website
  • Recurring subscription fee will then be annually from this date
  • Members will need to CANCEL their existing standing order / direct debit (with NatWest) at their respective banks
